INTRODUCING PROSPERITY

ASSOCIATE REFORMED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

WHO ARE WE?

 A Church!

The first and most foundational statement about our identity is that we are a local church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus came to build his Church (Matt. 16:18). As a husband loves his bride, so Jesus loves his Church and gave himself for her (Eph. 5:25). This is why Jesus is appropriately the Head and Savior of the Church (Col. 1:18). Therefore, we who have been baptized into Christ, regularly partake in the Lord's Table and trust in Him for the forgiveness of sins, joyfully submit to Jesus Christ as the Lord of the Church.

A Reformed Church!

To say that we are a Reformed Church is an abbreviated way of saying that we are “Reformed according to the Word of God.” This means that we are a Church that seeks continually to reform our beliefs and practices so that they might be securely anchored in the authoritative standard of the Word of God, the Bible (Heb. 6:10). We locate ourselves within the mainstream of historic Christianity and firmly believe, confess and teach the orthodox Christian faith as summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms, which contain a more detailed expression of what the Bible teaches about God, man, this life and the life to come.

 A Reformed Presbyterian Church!

The word Presbyterian is derived from the New Testament word that means “elders” (Acts 14:23). We are a church that is governed by the service of Ministers and Ruling Elders. These men are recognized by the members of the Church as those who have been called by the Holy Spirit to lead and care for the Church, both at the local and regional levels. You can learn more about our form of church government by reading chapter 31 of the Westminster Confession of Faith.

A Gospel Believing Church!

The gospel is good news that in Christ God has done everything necessary for the salvation of sinners and that the saving work of Christ becomes ours, apart from merit or works, by faith in (entrusting oneself into) Christ. Our “rightness” with God is found in Christ alone and completely and not at all in ourselves, and this is the basis of our standing with God no matter how long we have been Christians nor how much progress we have made in Christian holiness or service. The gospel is at the same time good news of a new quality of life that begins now and is empowered by the indwelling Holy Spirit who connects us to the power of Christ's death and resurrection, guided by the Law (our guide to gratitude), and focused on gradual, but in the end total, conformity to the character, conduct, and triumph of the glorified humanity of Jesus Christ.

 WHERE DO WE MEET?

Our church is located at 19 Prosperity Church Road, Taft, Tennessee.

Opportunities for Service

 The Lord's Day Service

On Sunday mornings at 11:00AM the Triune God himself graciously gathers us together in order to serve us. For this reason, Sunday must be central in the life of our congregation. On this day, we are cleansed from sin, renewed in our faith and trust in Jesus, instructed by his Word. Just before the worship service at 10:00AM we sit under Bible teaching in Sunday School as children and adults. In the afternoon we rest from our normal six-day work.

 Weekday Meetings

Throughout the week there are opportunities for growth and service. On Wednesday evenings at 7:00PM a group meets for prayer and Bible study at the church.
